The Trust schools are working with partner BCU to deliver an INSET day focusing on maths. Senior Lecturer Dave Smith will be delivering the training session. The focus will be on the use of practical resources to support the development of place value concepts and making connections between the four rules of number.
In addition work is underway with the King Edwards VI Handsworth School for Girls to develop an enrichment programme in maths. The programme will involve lesson observations at both the primary and secondary settings and an audit of resources and tools for learning, followed by a programme of activities for talented Yr 5 pupils from each of the schools.
