Congratulations to Mr Steggall and Moor Hall Primary School on National Recognition for Excellence
Moor Hall School has received recognition from the Secretary of State for Education for its continued success and pursuit of the highest possible standards and has now been designated a National Support School (NSS).
Mr Steggall, Headteacher at Moor Hall, is one of 70 headteachers to be appointed to the role of National Leader of Education (NLE) in the latest recruitment round. NLEs along with their staff use their expertise and professionalism to provide support in other schools.
The Learning Trust for Excellence (LTE) now has 2 NLEs as well as a Local Leader of Education (LLE), Specialist Leaders in Education (SLEs), 2 National Leaders of Governance (NLGs) and 2 Ofsted trained inspectors. Rachel Davis, Headteacher at Little Sutton Primary and Chair of the LTE was recognised for her excellent practice in July 2013 when she was appointed as a NLE. Rachel Davis said “This is a significant achievement. We are delighted that the skills, experience and expertise of Andrew and his team have been acknowledged with this accreditation. Andrew and his school have been passionate and dedicated to school support for some time and their work has made a real difference to schools they have worked with, improving the quality of teaching and learning and impacting of the lives of the children. School support is a high priority for the LTE and we are working hard to increase our capacity to engage with other schools in the area”.
Charlie Taylor, Chief Executive of the National College for Teaching and Leadership, said: “It’s great that heads are willing to look beyond their own school gates to help more and more pupils achieve. We now have well over 1,000 National Leaders of Education and their efforts are at the heart of a self-improving, school-led education system. School-to-school support is having a growing impact with benefits for both the schools being supported and those providing the support.”
These are also exciting times for education within Birmingham and the city has created a school improvement strategy called the Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP). During this academic year Mr Steggall will work for the BEP for three days per week helping them shape the developments across the city. He remains the strategic headteacher of Moor Hall school supported by his senior leadership team.
