Whitehouse Common Primary School are extremely proud to have been awarded the Sutton Coldfield Sports Awards 2015 - Aspire Trophy - Primary School of the Year. The prestigious event recognizes and celebrates the sporting achievements of schools and clubs from across the local area.
To be nominated for the award, the school must show that it gives its’ pupils a wide range of activities to participate in, within a high quality physical education programme. The school needed to prove that they engage pupils in a variety of extra-curricular sport. (The school should show commitment to School-Club links). Children are able to access high quality competitive opportunities at all levels of competition (Level 1 – Intra school, Level 2 – Inter school). Whitehouse Common Primary shows a commitment to engaging the least active students in sport and physical activity and ensures that KS1 students have high quality PE lessons to ensure they are physically literate by seven years old.
Mr Melville attended the awards ceremony on behalf of Whitehouse Common at Sutton Town Hall on Friday 29th January to be presented with their award.
